St. John's Renewal Project
St. John's are in the process of renewing parts of the premises in order to continue to serve the local community and meet the needs of the present age. Work began in November 2020 and is making good progress to date. (Feb 2021)
This 3 Phase project includes the following:
PHASE 1 - Extend and completely refurbish the current toilets along the main corridor. This to include the addition of a disabled access toilet and baby changing facilities.
PHASE 2 - Reburbish Rooms 1,2 and 3, and all along the main corridors, replacing all doors and cupboards, replastering, boxing in pipework, replacing lighting, painting, and new floor coverings.
PHASE 3 - Remove and relocate the front toilet area to create an open atrium as a place of welcome and community activity.
The total cost of the 3 phases will be in the region of £225,000. Phases 1 and 2 have already been funded and are well under way (see images).
To date we only have partial funding for Phase 3 and so can't begin this part of the project just yet. We still need to raise another £55,000. Please see our GIVING page if you would like to support.
